1.5 - Continued developement

Hands up who would like to see the continued developement of the 1.5 project

I have used OC2 - it sucks in my opinion - really hard to use the half developed default template so I thought I would pose the question

Hands up who would prefer to use 2 as opposed to 1.5? and would you like to see 1.5 continued to be developed further?

I would for one .... would you? .... btw please don't get sidetracked .... just state what you prefer

The only problem is, that OCShop is (for some time already) not longer fully compatible anymore with basic OC 1.5.6.x 'Doings', and Villagedefrance also went some steps further, in Development. This pretty well leaves me, as one of the (last/lost?) warriors possibly, trying to keep the 'default' by 'default', but still, working on the 'ultimate' Setup, just ready to work, with broadly used free Mod's and a couple of nice and working responsive Themes installed, by default, like on one of my Test Sites, linked below.

But unfortunately, I am not a Coder, just an old and Googie-experienced Knowledge-Thief, otherways, I would not have been spending the past 2 years already, on a daily 12 hour-bases, just to find out, what, out of 3K+ free Extensions and Mod's, could eventually meet best the Expectations of an average picky Swiss

But honestly, I was mainly concentrating on Shop-Performance, coming from the high performance Perl Auction Software Scene, wondering, why PHP requires 2K+ different Files, and many many Seconds, just to present a lousy Category or Product Page. Still, I managed to get the Thing to work, and, if you check the Source of a Category Page, or something, you'll find out, that I just about reached the point of, what's required, to get a GTMetrix 90+/90 AA-Report and 100/100 Rate on Pingdom, on a 50 products Category Page with a 'technically simple' responsive Theme and a few freely available Mod's and Changes, but without changing fundamental 'OC-Doings'.

Other than that, there is not much to develop anymore, on OC v.1.5.6.4+, otherways, there would be Warnings, if some known 'holes' would exist. But from the Viewpoint of Marketing, OC-2 is 'understandable', at least, because Dev's need to continue to make a living, otherways, the OC Project itself would be in high Danger, in the longer Run.

Thanks for the reply - 1.5 has a nice default template - a lot of beginners start with that and it would be nice if the two were developed as an A and B product in my opinion apart from the fact that there is a lot of 1.5 extensions out there that could still be used and purchased too
