first of all - I wrote entries like:

Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteBase /

RewriteRule ^(.*)(agate/agate-opal-and-rutilated-quartz-set-AG-01)$ index.php?controller=product&path=31&product_id=12

in .htaccess


then added entries like:

controller=product&path=31&product_id=12  agate/agate-opal-and-rutilated-quartz-set-AG-01

in url alias configuration in admin


The trick is to remember that main page has different query string parameters than categories.

I ended up writing a script. The script had to get all categories and products for each category from database, then create htacces entries in file and to automatically enter url aliases in database. Then I copied and pasted results to the htaccess.

Not a simple way, I know. But since I am new to htaccess - it was good enough. I am sure that it is possible to do it a lot simpler - but I just did not look for other way yet.
