How to apply options to multiple products
HI,
I just upgraded to the latest version. I noticed that now you need to create options for each product?
If I have 20 products all have 10 sizes certainly I dont have to add the the 10 options for every product setup ?
I must be missing something as the old version allowed for this.
thanks,
Chris

Re: How to apply options to multiple products
by "old" version I assume you mean the old OpenCart 0.x (now known as ChromiumCart)
That version used a "pool" system for options
OpenCart 1.x uses a per-product option system
So yes, you will need to create them one by one for each product or use the import/export util.

Hi everyone,
just a short question: Why is there no "Pool" of options for the products? What is the advantage of having no "pool"?!?!?!
Thanks
Hartmut

Re: How to apply options to multiple products
I am afraid, I am encountering this issue. I am to transfer the site to OC and have many products with same options, for each item about 6x2=12 same options. Could somebody please help me to avoid this unnecessary time consuming exercise for each item to setup.
Is it possible to keep the needed options and change the images, descriptions, prices and others variable options and save as a different file?
At the moment I am using options template and can discard which are not needed or can make a minor change instead of adding same lengthy options again and again.
Thanking you for your kind time & effort! Any help or suggestion which does not involve PHP on my part (because I do not know the language) shall be much appreciated.
