New to OC, questions about pricing

Hello,
I just installed OC this morning and I'm enjoying the customization so far. However, I do have a question about the pricing option. Basically, I am looking to sell things in bulk. One item might only come in 250, 500, and 1000 items. I can't see to figure out how to set "fixed" quantities. I don't want customers to have to type in their own quantities. I would like a drop down menu to say 250, 500, and 1000. So about 3-5 fixed quantities per item, placed in a drop down menu or radio button fashion. Then my price reflect on what they have chosen. Other items may have different amounts, so I am looking for something with flexibility in quantity.

I have even looked through the extensions. Perhaps I am overlooking something. I wouldn't even mind paying for it. Can you guys help?

Thanks,
Chris

You could use product options for this, though it wouldn't count the quantities correctly. If you created options of 250, 500, or 1000, then someone could choose one of those options for the product, and it would show up on the order.

However, if you need to accurately track stock in OpenCart, that won't work because it can't decrement the quantity based on a product option. It will just look at the quantity of the item in the cart (so it would only be decremented by 1). If that's an issue, you're going to need to find a custom modification for this, because there's no way to do it in a default OpenCart installation.

If you can't find an extension on opencart.com, you'll need to hire someone to write it for you. If you need to find a developer, you should post a request in the OpenCart "Commercial Support" forum, which is checked by a number of OpenCart developers. You can also try checking out the OpenCart "Partners" area.
