Hi,

Im looking at adding an alternate payment method for Credit Card payments, and have been looking around at the obvious ones(Worldpay, Sage Pay etc) and i have also been recommended Stripe and Realex by a friend who uses them of a booking system and just wondered what peoples opinions are regarding service and support etc?

Both are great - typically they are just another gateway option.

Realex will be included as standard in 2.0 but there is plenty of modules for existing installs for both gateways.

It really comes down to price, supported cards, is 3d secure offered and if they have a 24 hour support desk.

Realex also includes something called Transaction suitablility score (TSS), its a great indicator of fraud risk. Note sure about stripe for that feature

I do offer both RealEx Payment options (Redirect and Remote) and I for one would give a thumbs up to the support staff there. I've worked with many of the top guys there and they were very helpful and knowledgeable about their system (which is strangely uncommon with many other payment gateway companies who seem to be clueless to their own system.. ::cough:: paypal ::cough::).

Both support 3D secure and the latest version of OpenCart
Realex Remote
Realex Redirect

Thank you for the comments, i will be looking into this further next week.

Out of interest what is the difference between Remote and Redirect? Does the redirect go to their page like paypal, and the remote stay on my site when processing?

Hi Andy,

That's correct.

If you process the cards on your website though, you need a higher (and more costly) level of PCI compliance because you need ASV scanning, your own resources and the questionnaire (SAQ document) is MUCH longer. You can get a more processional feel processing the cards on your site but you need to weigh that against the costs.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

I have recently enabled the Realex extension in Opencart and it allows for us to take payments and is all working correctly.

However........

it is currently kicking this message out in the customer account section as well as the admin section and would really appreciate some help as to how we can remove this from happening:

This is debug info showing the transaction details for the payment. You should have a debug option to disable in the realex setup that will disable this.. at least my realex mod has that.. not sure which one you are using
