Hello

I'm having a little problem and I hope someone can give me some suggestions as what I can do.

Problem is that I bought an extension and paid the seller/programmer to install it on my site and that was 10 days ago, he did some work the next day but never finish it and wasn't replying to my email. And because the installation wasn't properly done I was getting full pages or error that I had to delete many times a day because it was filling up very fast in the error.log.

So because I couldn't get an answer and not knowing when he would and if he would finish the installation I first block all access to my site for him and I open a case through paypal to request a refund because after seeing how he was replying to other people complaining I knew he would get mad at me.

After I open the case the seller finally found the time to email me but only for threatening to mess my site what he wrote I don't know if I can post it here so I won't, but I went to cpanel and to Crawlprotect and I saw that he did try to access my site and that 10 times in a row! I think I'm lucky that I thought of blocking him just after I open the case at pp.

Now what I would like to know is:

Is there anything I can do to make sure he won't make me any problem of some sort?
Should I send him a formal demand?
Should I report him somewhere?
Or any other suggestions are welcome.

if he is selling on opencart, list his name, shame him for the sake of other users in the future.

No point for formal letters / demands. Nowhere you can report except for paypal to get back your money. Next, block him off your server, only allow FTP access or SSH access with your IP address

Actually, in several countries both PayPal and credit card companies can bring about reversals. In PayPal disputes tend to work in buyers' favor, and most sellers figure out one way or another that PayPal is happiest when there are no disputes and especially no reversals or other wrinkles that cost PayPal money.

I've waited 6 days to had the error fix and then emailed him again to let him know that I un-installed the extension until he can fix it because I was tired of login many times a day just to delete the errors which were filling up very fast in vqmod and error.log but he didn't reply, so I sent another email and said: At least I would appreciate an answer!

He finally answer and said: "If you deleted the extension how do you want me to fix it"

I replied and said: "I didn't deleted it just un-installed the .xml files but all the files are still there but it's giving a lot of errors just the same even if I un-installed the xml files.

Then I found out that he hardcoded some of the xml lines directly in my theme/tpl files! So I removed those files and put back the one from my backup

I've waited again but no reply so I went to the extension comment and told him that if he was not going to fix it I wouldn't have no choice then ask for a refund.

He replied
Stop filling the form with crap i told you i will fix the module to work on your site and i did it now you don not stop arresting me every second with emails i have other customer not only you so be patience
He made the installation on the 8th and that message was on the 17th and he ask me to be patient!
So I send a request to oc and open a case in pp and went right away to block him from accessing my site and this is wath he wrote:
So After i did the work for you you complain and dispute transaction NP but you should be worry about how your site will be working in the time to come cos even if you block my IP that will not save you. i got my insurgence policy and code when i do work for people like you
So I went to check my error.log in cpanel and saw that he tried to access it in 20 different way in one of it he tried this:

And now oc support is telling me that I should unblock him and let him fix the files!!!! Yes sure you can count on me to do that after what he said and did.

My and your server's system administrator's unflinching reactions to means and timing, code strings, addresses, logs, and machine details, inter alios, were and remain essentially the same, and we are both privy to further details, ranging from technical to ordinary, including defiance and resentment as well timings and certain even obvious risks, that argue against resuming. The price tag has run its course, the cost tag has not.

He deleted all my questions/comments in the ext. store the one where I was asking for a quote for installation and modification for bilingual site, the one where he posted the price.

Looking at the rating now (4) for 45 sales he probably deleted the other comments where people were complaining!

HIs rating was higher when I purchased the extension so I believe that a few people went back and changed their rating!

I blocked him through CrawlProtect, in my store, on the server through Cpanel and my web host blocked him on all servers

I should be ok! I hope! :)

I replied to oc support after they told me to give him access to my site and c/p them the emails threats, the login attempts and all the emails and told them that if he really did fix the file and made modification for bilingual as I asked then he can send the files to support and they forward it to me because I would be really scare to open any file from him now!

After trying to settle this situation through oc support with many emails between him/oc/me the developer said
If the Buyer will not agree to let me work then is noting that i can do he
can continue crying and complain the module tested on his site and working
fine.
I do not have time to continue with all this spam email from the buyer and
do not wand to let hem have any refund i rather donate the money he pay
then let hem carry on with this matter
And this morning he went to my 2nd store and tried to access it again 4 times through different files

But he didn't have the time to reply to my request and fix the problem!!!!

I just told oc support that if he keeps doing it I will post everything here in the forum and in the comment section, if he want the war he will get it!

That's very sad that someone can act like this, he must be very miserable!

I think that he have more to loose then I do, because if I let everyone know what kind of seller/developer he his he will have a hard time to sell anymore extension!
