Thank you, Qphoria! I am reviewing what you have there, now. We are definitely thinking along the same lines here. I think this is critical to the success of OpenCart and I think that we all will have less headaches! :-)

Thank you, Xsecrets. I appreciate your response. I do keep a detailed log of what I do, as a practice, and I also use programs like WinMerge, to carefully see code changes, for upgrades. But, I would say that this could be a very painful process, given the present methodology of implementing modules...

... if it can helps... you can manage your dev site in your PC locally, using xampp. I do this without particular issues. In this way you can work offline, check everything, then upload your modification in your live site. I also use a second dev site installed on a free host (altervista) to check ...
