Re: VAT Help

Sorry avvici I may be about to burst your bubble. If you are selling goods online from Belgium to a consumer based in another EU member state you only charge Belgian VAT up until you have exceeded the distance selling threshold for the that other member state, after which you must register for VAT ...

Re: Really Beginner Question

If you have already uploaded your files to the server in the main root there should be a file called htaccess.txt If you are using an FTP client like filezilla or even a file manager just choose to rename the file to htaccess Simply remove the .txt This makes it a real .htaccess file. In the htacces...

Re: How get Latest Customer

First, you should consider looking at the firstname field, order_id field, and lastname field within the orders table, that is inside the database. With that field you have the data that you need. Next, an option is to simply use the existing code (with a little bit of customizing) that displays all...

Re: How to resend initial order email?

In your admin if you navigate to SALES/ORDERS/ORDER HISTORY you should be able to notify that specified customer of an order status change. With that script you should be able to set up something else that notifies that same customer of their original order. Why do you want to send it twice?

Re: VAT Help

As I understand it, all EU members have reciprocal VAT agreements with each other. This means that you charge your home country's VAT for shipments to any EU member nation, including your own. You do not charge VAT for shipments destined for outside the EU. The exception to this, as SXGuy said, is ...

Re: VAT Help

I thank you for the information. It's becoming clearer now but I still misunderstand one thing: You said: if you live in the UK, you charge VAt at 20%, if someone in France buys from you, they pay VAT of 20% also. Is that because France is part of the UK(which I think it's not)? Our store is based i...

MEMCACHE (Caching alternative)

I recently installed MEMCACHE on my Linux Server to help with caching. I am no expert at this but I am assuming that OPEN CART uses basic FILE CACHING? If so, is there a way to configure the platform to utalize MEMCACHE instead?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Joe
