Re: How to use .htaccess.txt File with OpenCart 1.5.1.3

Brook wrote:.... do I need to change the name of the file so that the file can be used by my OpenCart Website? Example do I need to remove the ".txt" extension from the file?
That's right - so you're left with a file called .htaccess
The file will then be active.

Re: Reduce amount of Javascript?

The Pagespeed plugin advises that you can crunch down the default js a little more, saving around 14.5KB (not much, I know). For an experiment I did try as much optimisation as possible on a default OC 1.5 installation, and got it down to 322KB, Pagespeed 97/100, Yslow grade B. The demo was around 6...

Re: OC 1.4.9.4 Clean - Admin panel only shows Dashboard-No M

So....you didn't take a backup before starting work on the security changes :o shock, horror! Well, we've all been there :) Assuming your admin/config now looks something like this <?php // HTTP define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.domain-shop.com/admin/'); define('HTTP_CATALOG', 'http://www.domain-sho...

Re: empty state dropdown

something similar has been seen before: http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=42437&hilit=dropdown&start=40 In the above case, I think the zone dropdown function called on a plain html page populated with data (the zones). That was meant to populate the dropdown; but the page was coming up ...

Re: SSL Checkout

I use Chrome's 'inspect element' feature*, which works similarly to whynopadlock. It shows this: insecure-content.png Your realtime-related-tweets script is coming from an insecure, external source, as are your google fonts. Unless the scripts/fonts can be accessed with a https: URL, the only way to...

Re: Second shop temporary

If you want to keep Google away from your test site, why not try robots.txt. Put your test site in a subfolder, like /newshop, then you can keep the crawlers out with 2 lines of text..

For developing a second shop, though, I favour the local server approach as jty suggested - it's much faster.

Re: v1.5.1.3 - Godaddy Premium EV SSL Installation

Yes, don't worry - your store won't blow up. Or rather, if your certificate is issued correctly, for the correct domain, and installed correctly by your host - and you follow the instructions - your store won't blow up! :) In 99.9% of cases it goes like this: 1. Host installs SSL cert 2. You go to a...

Re: Whited out text on some pages after new theme installed

hi roadapple, Well, I'm not familiar with the slideshow mod that you have. Does the admin panel interface offer anywhere you can modify the URL? If not, you might need some help from the person who built the mod. Incidentally, I notice the slider appears on all pages, whereas traditionally sliders o...

Re: Is it possible to just email the orders to Admin?

The answer depends on what you're aiming to do. If you just want people to have goods for free, there's a free checkout module standard with Opencart. If you want them to use a Purchase order, for later payment, Qphoria has an extension here http://opencartguru.com/purchase_order And I see there's a...
