Re: Questions about Journal 2 theme prior to buying

You should stay away from any of the Journal themes. As Ernie said, they don't abide by the OpenCart standards, and will cause clashes with many other 3rd party extensions. There are better, and IMHO nicer looking themes available for OpenCart. Take a look at this forum thread.

Warning: Stay away from A2Hosting

So we thought using a new webhost for our sites would be a nice thing to do, so we went for the A2Hosting as advertised on the OpenCart forum. Big mistake. New account was set up. We were using the hosting located in Amsterdam. It's DB connection for our site never worked. The A2Hosting tech support...

Re: [RELEASED] Multilingual Export/Import for OpenCart 2.x / 3.x

The data in the spreadsheet should be un-escaped. The Import then escapes it before storing it into the database.

Re: Is it possible to search for word in all files?

If you use Linux, a good text editor like Kate will allow you to just that.

Re: Add to cart button not working on explorer

Are you using the Journal theme? You keep getting the error: 'ReferenceError: Journal is not defined' when selecting a color. A normal web theme would just use a proper <select> element, with embedded <option> elements. However, your web theme uses a cumbersome javascript instead, causing this error...

Re: OpenCart GDPR Code update

OK, here is a question: A customer has ordered items in the past, and the store owner received email copies of submitted online orders. Now the customer wants to make use of his right to be deleted. So the store owner can delete his account, no problem. But what about the order history in the databa...

Re: GDPR EU Law Cookies 2018

@OSWorX: I know you are quite busy, but if you or any other has a spare moment, I'd like to know how to handle the various page and sales tracking. Re: Opencart theme 3.0.2 following the default theme

First of all thank you for your work. I noticed your web theme contains almost all of the OpenCart template files. Are they really all modified? If not, there is no need to include them. A good web theme should mainly consist of its own CSS and images, and refrain from re-doing template files when t...

Re: Contact Us Page went blank

I think you have posted the same question before, so here is the same answer again: The HTML is generated just fine, the CSS causes it to become invisible, because your Journal theme generates this questionable CSS: . contact-page > :not(form) { display: none; } Please be aware that the Journal them...

Re: How to increase website loading speed.

I agree with Ernie. You have chosen one of the worst web hosts (go-daddy). If you are serious about ecommerce use a quality web host.

Re: What are my options for updating from 1.3.0 to 3.0?

I usually do a fresh install for a new OpenCart version, and then use the Export/Import tool to port the old products data from the old to the new server. See also our FAQ on this.

Re: Contact Us page is blank

This is an issue with your Journal theme. It generates among others the following CSS which neither Firefox nor Chrome like: .contact-page>*:not(form) { display: none; } The HTML output is generated, but due to this faulty CSS it becomes invisible. Unfortunately, most 3rd party web themes for OpenCa...

Re: Warning: stay away from MijoShop

Since these are all OpenCart-based, why not just go with the original? You can easily integrate the original OpenCart and adjust its web theme to the one used by Joomla, Wordpress, or whatever. Some of these OpenCart offshoots, like Arrasta, use old (and often buggy) 3rd party extensions.
