xxx already did your job for you - and so on .. Enough advertising for someone else It’s not advertising, I’m in no way affiliated with them! I’m simply explaining there is already a solution that works, as OpenCart were clearly unable to cater to their users needs. What’s the point in creating som...

Re: GDPR EU Law Cookies 2018

You don't have to allow people to opt out. My understanding is it says where reasonable effort. You DO have to let people know what data is collected/stored and where it goes, when it gets deleted etc. I've just been going through the whole DB to make a compliant statement, i've found 53 fields tha...

How can this technically be achieved in OpenCart?
Simply by the approbiate extension :)
Have to check my current extension for this and publish it soon.
Could you tell me which OpenCart Version you are using?
1.5.6.4 - will gladly pay a premium for this extension if you offer it.

Will be published soon.
Do you have a date in mind for when this will be published, and what versions for OpenCart it will be compatible for?

I will recommend you to choose Cloudways OpenCart hosting, I am using it for my Opencart store and It is fully managed, You can manage your website on clicks and deploy in minutes.
Cloudways is a good option, you can scale up and down and basically just use what you need.

Re: OpenCart 3.0.2.0 Released

No estimate. v3.0.2.0 release works well as it is when installing the bug fixes provided on the bug reports section of the forum. Very few codes to update afterwards but minor severity compared to previous versions. Still I see many bugfixes on GitHub, I'm surprised there hasn't been a release, it'...

Re: PHP 7.2 Support?

I asked OpenCart about this, they said:

Normally, we prefer the Opencart system to run in PHP 5.6.
There may be some bug or error with you run in PHP 7.X.

If you have any question, please feel free to let us know.
Thanks and regards,

Alex

Re: PHP 7.2 Support?

Well, that's all carbage talk, they said that already about PHP 7.0, and it did not change a thing for OC. But since you want to find out, what's keeping you from trying it out, you won't have to change anything in the OC configuration. Ernie Look at the benchmarks (in the link I posted) they speak...

PHP 7.2 Support?

Does OpenCart support PHP 7.2? Has anyone tested it?

Apparently there are significant performance increases, see this article - https://kinsta.com/blog/php-7-hhvm-benchmarks/

Re: various bogus "new customer" accounts created recently and now often

yah, there are a bunch of pay modules for it... but why should we have to pay for it when it can be coded for free? the pay modules might be easier to use, etc... but I don't mind working things out to achieve the results :-) Depends how you look at it, a user having to manually type a Captcha code...

Re: various bogus "new customer" accounts created recently and now often

I purchased the ClearThinking extension - http://www.opencartx.com/account-registration-captcha

Works much better than the solution above as the user doesn’t have to type anything, just click on the Google Recaptcha box.

Works great, spam eliminated.

Re: I think I have a problem with a bot.

I also have a commercial Account Registration Captcha extension that affects both the customer and affiliate registrations. There are versions for all OpenCart 1.5.x and 2.x versions. I've seen a large increase in sales of it lately, likely because someone has created bot scripts targeting OpenCart...

Attached is vQmod : Captcha for Account register and Affiliate register.
Made and tested for OC 1.5.6.*
Installed last week and stopped creation of new 'James Kelvin' accounts as customer and affiliate.
How does this work without installing a separate Captcha script to work alongside it?

Re: various bogus "new customer" accounts created recently and now often

I think the solution to this issue is adding a Captchca to thbe new user registration page... or a similar "answer this really easy question..." type thing... I'll dig deeper and maybe see what there is available for Captcha's on version 1.5.6 for me.... Mike B Can you let me know too? I'm also on ...
