Re: Authorize.net Important MD5 Hash Removal/Disablement

I posted about this in October last year but since I mentioned it in a 2nd post, I was pointed back to my other post and told it was redundant and the call would be canceled. In typical OpenCart fashion, my face was rubbed in the redundancy but nobody had the courtesy to tell me if OpenCart was goin...

Re: Authorize.net (Deprecated)

Yes, as I've said before.... posted by me. This post was intended to be about something different but evidently that doesn't work. I would close this call if I could. I was hoping to point out a bug, that's all. Bugs and deprecated products are different topics.

Re: Add Model Field for Options in core data structure

Yea... like that. I get it that there needs to be a balance with extensions in terms of what is included in the core features and what is farmed out to developers. My thinking has always fallen in favor of the idea that developers do added value stuff while core data model impact issues or items tha...

Re: Authorize.net AIM PHP error

Yea, the post you pointed me to was one of mine. They are two different things. One is saying, hey the AIM/SIM API is deprecated and Authorize.net has a new methodology. I'm not sure if OpenCart has adopted that new method or not and with that, this post was asking if there is an error in the PHP. I...

Authorize.net AIM PHP error

I think there is a code error in the authorizenet_aim.php file in OC 3.0.2. Line 167 of that documents is: $json['error'] = $response_info[4]; but there seems to be no "4" key in the response_info section. There is '1', '5', '6', '7', '39', and '40'. Can someone who knows php look at this file and t...

Re: Add Model Field for Options in core data structure

Thanks. I still am requesting that this be added as a design feature. Besides, I need to verify but I think that POS integration tools key on Module field, not SKU. Dealing with variations and options in any online store is goofy as they take so many forms.

Add Model Field for Options in core data structure

I searched this forum and could not find this topic so I'm adding it here. I hope it's not already in the features request pool and I've made a dup. That said, we are moving to 3.0 and our goal will be to tie our QuickBooks POS to our OpenCart site for live inventory updates. The problem is that we ...

Re: Alteration of default theme - theme duplication - Best Practices?

Well I took the big leap and modified the default theme. Still wish OC was easier to add child themes but there you have. In a break from the norm I actually kept detailed notes on the structural changes to the twig files in case they get modified in an upgrade. The biggest impact was that i added t...

Authorize.net (Deprecated)

I see that OC 3.0 has Authorize.net AIM and SIM built in. According to Authorize.net these two API's are deprecated and have new solutions. I'm unable to make a connection from my test environment to the Authorize.net sandbox and this may be part of the problem but my question is this... is OpenCart...

Re: Alteration of default theme - theme duplication - Best Practices?

Another challenge. The layout of the product page has the column holding the image also holding the description tab etc. This is a problem because it makes the image frame span the columns and if you have a long product name, the next column to the right smashes the product name into multiple lines....

Default Theme - why image thumbnails by Options on Product Page

I'm trying to move from 1.5.6.4 to 3.0 by setting up a test site and getting familiar with all the changes. Using the default theme, there are two thumbnails beside the product options. Code inspector says the images are from the cache and are no_image-50x50.jpg. This would imply that the options th...

Re: Alteration of default theme - theme duplication - Best Practices?

Wow, lot to digest here. Point of clarity however, I don't want to make a "New Theme" I want to use the Default Theme, customize it and be assured that my work won't get written over by an OC upgrade. The thinking (taken from WordPress world) is to make a "Child Theme" (clone of Default), give it it...

Re: Alteration of default theme - theme duplication - Best Practices?

Thanks Ernie, Funny, ODD and somewhat Sad that OC doesn't have a workflow for this. If they are going to encourage folk to use TWIG the assumption is that they won't be doing a ton of mod's to commercially available themes because of the inherent issues that would cause. Therefore the assumption has...

Alteration of default theme - theme duplication - Best Practices?

I've looked for this info relating to v 3.0 and haven't found it. Sorry if I'm repeating a question. I've created a test bed installation and have decided to modify the default theme. As I work through this and modify templates etc. I'm concerned that I'm one update from it all going away. It seems ...

Re: Placement of storage folder

Perhaps instead of asking my question as ideal or theory, let me express it this way: 1. What folder structure does OpenCart use as it relates to storage. 2. What are the folder names? 3. Where are they installed? 4. What are the implications of having them in the public_html folder? 5. If I'm doing...

Placement of storage folder

I created a subdomain on our site to build a 3.x version testbed (we are on 1.5.6.4). Got all that working but in the install process the system prompted me that the storage folder needed to be moved outside of public_html. The path it was giving looked like it would bump into the live site so I sai...
