Website showing version changes

Would a website that shows all of the changes made between opencart versions be of any use to anyone? A bit like the changes that google shows here: http://code.google.com/p/opencart/source/detail?r=93 except that it will show any changes in all files I will quite happily do this, but only if it's a...

Re: SEO Module Error - Duplicating URL's

reading up on this stuff now: Quote from Google Central : “having multiple URLs on the same domain that point to the same content. Like http://www.example.com/skates.asp?color=black&brand=riedell and http://www.example.com/skates.asp?brand=riedell&color=black. Having this type of duplicate content ...

Re: SEO Module Error - Duplicating URL's

I suppose it's just personal preference.
I quite like the way that dabs.com and ebuyer.com do it actually.
URL shows only product info, breadcrumb shows full preset category path for the product

Re: SEO Module Error - Duplicating URL's

As MitchMcBride said, set the primary category which is the one that shows, then have other categories.
As browsing by manufacturer - what difference would it make?

Re: SEO Module Error - Duplicating URL's

The right way around this issue is to have a primary category for each product which is used in the SEO URL. That way regardless of the category path taken to get to the product, there is only one product URL. Example: Sony 50" Bravia LCD TV Primary Category Electronics > Televisions > LCD Other Ca...

Re: mySQL error when checkout

Here you go Connor I just got this error when i was trying to modify products that had product options. The fix: -- STEP 1: BACKUP EXISTING DATABASE & FILES -- STEP 2: Do a Find/replace in this file to replace 'xxx_' with your prefix. -- If you don't have a prefix, then find/replace 'xxx_' with a bl...

Re: Product-Options Query

I just got this error when i was trying to modify products that had product options. They didn't miss steps, Daniel forgot to add them to the instructions. The fix: -- STEP 1: BACKUP EXISTING DATABASE & FILES -- STEP 2: Do a Find/replace in this file to replace 'xxx_' with your prefix. -- If you don...

Weight Based Shipping

Hello, Is it possible to hide the shipping if the weight is less than something? For example at the moment, the shipping option will show if the weight is under a certain value that you put in. E.g. (forgive me for the rather crude code) "2000:4.41,4000:7.06" means if weight < 2000{ cost = 4.41 } el...

Re: Redesign the Catalog

I don't think it really matters does it?

It's fine the way it is, and besides people use Opencart for it's core functionality, not because it looks nice, because people create their own themes.

Re: [OpenCart Package Installer] - Design Phase

This is a very nice idea Qphoria. What would be really great would be if someone could code an addon or something for a program, that actually tracks what you do, and automatically writes instructions to perform the changes as you make them. This would speed up the process tenfold, because you would...

Re: OpenCart 1.3.3

OpenCart Logo

Just thought i'd let you know my opinion of the new OpenCart logo.
I prefer the old one where the letters kind of overlapped each other. This one looks a bit too weak and thin. Also the difference between the C and ART is quite odd.

Just my 2 cents :)

Re: Is opencart suitable for a catalog?

Yep. 1. Turn off prices for people not logged in. 2. Hack out the code for logging in. 3. Go to admin, and disable the cart bit. 4. Hack out the rest of the design for adding products to cart. So yeah, you're going to have to hack the code about a bit, but it should be really very easy to just remov...

Re: Is opencart suitable for a catalog?

Of course it's possible. You can just take out the whole cart aspect of it, and turn off prices being shown to people who arn't logged in?

Re: Reset Products Viewed Report

I don't know if there's an option in the admin, but i know there's a column for product views in the Export/Import Mod in the contributions section, which will let you set all the values to 0, then reupload it thus resetting all the view counts.
