Re: Admin password barfed, OCreset.php doesn't resolve - HEL

Thanks but as mentioned earlier, that didn't work. I've got to the bottom of it (well, by that I mean I can now login, but don't know the root cause). I noticed my two config.php files had different passwords for my database (I can only assume that this has changed due to the aformentioned problem m...

why would youtube embed code, not show as a video on OC?

I used to have youtube videos embedded in my products descriptions...all I used to do was cut & paste the supplied youtube video code into the OC product description (i.e when editing the product decription in 'html' view)...it all worked fine. But at some stage it's stopped workijng (possible v...

Re: Is there a known good migration plan from 1.5.6 to 2.0.1

Ok, so this script sounds hopeful :-) (thanks for sharing). So are the steps as follows... 1. Install script on existing website 2. Export database from existing live website 3. Create a new website 4. Install vanilla 2.0.1.1 Opencart 5. Install script onto V2.0OC website ...import the previously ex...

Re: Is there a known good migration plan from 1.5.6 to 2.0.1

So basically no then!

I'm wondering what type of company ethos sees such a situation "let's release a new version of our product with no easy/clear upgrade path for all our existing users - brand new customers only!"

Weird.

Is there a known good migration plan from 1.5.6 to 2.0.1.1

Subject says it all really.

And if there's no upgrade script, what are the dicreet individual steps to do a brand new fresh install & then point the new install to your existing database?

Many thanks

Re: Any OC Database experts? Where does OC store exchange ra

Many thanks. Linnworks doesn't have a dedicated script for Opencart...it does retrieve OC order alright with it's generic deployment script, it always pulls in the transaction currency correctly but uses the default currency price each time, therefore I've just got to work out some way for non GBP t...

Re: Any OC Database experts? Where does OC store exchange ra

Many thanks, where did you source this information?

I'm therefore figuring that Linnworks needs to 'retrieve' the OC price paid (i.e. the deault currency price paid....whatever that relates to in the OC database) multiplied by currency_value to address my issue.

Re: Any OC Database experts? Where does OC store exchange ra

Edit : Oops just reread your post - so now I have an inkling where to look! Old currency rates that have since been updated are not stored anywhere if I look down my orders screen in my OC Admin panel ...all transactions carried out in USD, EUR, AUD (my derfault currency is GBP), show the correct a...

Re: Any OC Database experts? Where does OC store exchange ra

Thanks for the reply...I've still not got it sorted. I don't sell that much on Opencart (most of sales are from ebay/Amazon), so it hasn't caused too much grief, but I would now like to get it sorted. Linnworks say 'speak to opencart', there is nobody i can speak to bar this forum....the answer i go...

Any OC Database experts? Where does OC store exchange rates?

For those transactions made in a foreign currency, I need to know the exchange rate used by Opencart. opencart clearly stores it somewhere (on account that the sale in OC Admin has the underlying price in foreign currency that an order was transacted at) At the moment, order prices being pulled in f...

Civil Unrest in Hong Kong

[oddpost]

I see that Opencart 2.0 has just been released.

I also note there seems to be a bit of 'it's all kicking off' vibe about Hong Kong at the minute.

Surely there aren't that many people reluctant to OC change?

Re: admin password - he no workee, man cries loudly.

Hi Johnathan - thanks for your input :-) Well, thankfully the fault has now been resolved, for the record, here's why my hosting company said... "The session.save path PHP setting was not being applied to your PHP.ini file, we have applied the setting manually and can now access your OpenCart a...

Re: admin password - he no workee, man cries loudly.

Thanks Johnathan, if it the session bug you mention....would that stop customers buying? (because that seems to be prevelant too). I had a customer contact me today....he's unable to checkout....I'd also noticed that when I register a new customer account, I'm not being emailed from my website ....i...

Dear oh dear...why can't I embed a YT video anymore? V1.5.6

I used to be able to this easily ...i.e. grab the 'embed' code off YT, switch my OC product description to 'html' mode paste the html code in there, then switch back my OC product description to normal view - then I'd normally see the video in my product description description box...not anymore (I'...
