Re: [v3.0.2.0 - Concept] - BRs insteads of BR slash

Nothing crucial. Although, a bit odd without the slash as not providing the right example to the zillion of theme developers Current DOCTYPE used in all pages of Opencart is HTML5. The "BR" element must be `<br>`, not `<br />`. See https://www.w3.org/TR/html5/text-level-semantics.html#the-br-elemen...

Re: [OCJ] Doctor Mod - modification log analysis and diagnostics

We discontinued it as non-profitable but disturbing. We had planned to receive some sort of feedback from community and show the problem to the Opencart users, making analysis more simple and problem more visible. But no feedback was given, and more understanding among OC users was not reached too. ...

Re: vQmod To OCMod Conversion Thread

Ocmod cache files and error logs also not a problem: they accessible via FTP and can be sent in the same way that vQmod's. The one thing that can not be done without access to admin area - refreshing of ocMod cache.

What a waist of resources and what a source for issues!

If OC would use one system it would look so much more professional.
Using either vQmod or ocMod will always be an source of issues (conflicts), even if you use one of them.

"Doctor Mod" - Opencart logs analysis and diagnostic tool

We have made a tool for OCMOD/vQmod error logs analysis and diagnostic - OCJ Doctor Mod . I'm interested in feedback. It is known that vQmod and OCmod minimize efforts of repairing system after failed installation but do not prevent conflicts. The tool minimizes efforts to find an errors and helps t...

Re: vQmod To OCMod Conversion Thread

What do you mean in (3)? Isn't "system/modification/*" the place containing modified files dumped?

It's fairly obvious the Opencart itself is full of such problems, but from the other point of view this gives us (developers) the room for endless improvements, including paid.

Re: vQmod To OCMod Conversion Thread

@MarketInSG In addition: if you need to debug extension and do it via `*.ocmod.xml` file in "system" folder, please remember that when you finish and extension will be uploaded via extension installer, execution order will be different. The `ocmod.xml` files will be executed first, before any extens...

Re: vQmod To OCMod Conversion Thread

@JNeuhoff: Of course, I agree. I had meant any design pattern (observer, mediator, etc) which will enable module files to be encapsulated, objects to be inherited, extended or overwritten. Events in OC2 is good move. I also hope OE will be more accepted by core developers and community authors.

Re: vQmod To OCMod Conversion Thread

why reinvent the wheel if it was working well Good question. Why reinvent the wheel with vqmod/ocmod in 2011 when OOP/OOD[1] was invented and wide used starting approx. in ~1990-1995? Why not use HMVC[2] for modules and some sort of Composer/Packagist as extensions distribution model? vQmod doesn't...

Re: vQmod To OCMod Conversion Thread

Yet another problem of ocmod: * no sort order of ocmods => no ability to guarantee that conflicts resolved today will not occurs tomorrow. This can be quickly fixed by adding sorting by `date_added` field, but more preferable way is adding sort_order column; * update ocmod modifications not availabl...

Re: vQmod To OCMod Conversion Thread

So let say a conflict is found and you have no access to the admin gui. You go in and delete the entry in the database that causing the issue/conflict. How do you clear the cache so the pages get regenerated. Don't even know why do you need to discuss this strange case, but if you have access to FT...

Re: vQmod To OCMod Conversion Thread

OcMod XML stored in database `oc_modification` table. No feature exist to export them to files, ready to use out-of-the-box. To find conflicts you need to analyze ocmod.log and save XML to files manually (or write an extension for this). If you are finding and resolving conflicts, now you should cop...

Re: Pull Request Requiring DB Alter

This should be done via migrations. bot Opencart doesn't use this.
You should modify at least `install/opencart.sql` for new installs and check `install/{controller,model}/upgrade.php`.

Re: error submitting review when e-mail alert is activated

To fix this issue:

1. open file "catalog/model/catalog/review.php"

2. find line

Code: Select all

$mail->setTo(array($this->config->get('config_email')));
and change it to:

Code: Select all

$mail->setTo($this->config->get('config_email'));

Downloads: wrong security check breaks uploading safe files

Where: Opencart 2.0.1.1, admin backend, `catalog/download/add` There is 3 security check (file extension, mime type, and "<?php" inside the file). The last one fails uploading safe zip files. You can check this - try to make downloadable "opencart-2.0.1.1.zip" in fresh oc2011 install. I have found t...
