Re: Amazon EC2 deployment of OpenCart

Sorry for the delayed response... Here are some tips and hints from my experience deploying Opencart into Amazon EC2. I noticed during my deployment to Amazon EC2 using a ELB (Elastic Load Balancer) I could not use HTTP and HTTPS together. There was some issue with certain pages especially image upl...

Re: Real Client IP Address - solution using vqmod

Thanks to vqmod. Attached is the vqmod xml file to get the real client IP address if you are running behind a load balancer or proxy. (Note: you will need to install vqmod (http://vqmod.com/) first. Then drop the attached .xml file into the xml directory, that will mod all instances of $this->reques...

Re: Real Client IP Address

The following files seems to be using the REMOTE_ADDR from the request. ./admin/controller/common/forgotten.php ./catalog/controller/payment/authorizenet_aim.php ./catalog/controller/payment/pp_pro_uk.php ./catalog/controller/payment/sagepay_direct.php ./catalog/controller/payment/perpetual_payments...

Real Client IP Address

When OpenCart is deployed behind a load balancer, the Client IP address shows the load balancer's IP address. OpenCart should get the real client IP address looking at the HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR instead of REMOTE_ADDR. It would be nice to first look at HTTP_CLIENT_IP, then HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR and the...

Re: Image manager not working

I was able to solve this problem by ensuring the all admin requests were set to https in the admin/config.php I had enabled HTTPS and was forcing all URI's with /admin to be HTTPS. It seems there were some redirects happening (302 Not Found) which seems to be causing the problem. I also see the Stat...

Re: Image manager not working

The image file manager was working, but it then stopped. Not sure if any of the configuration in apache, .htaccess or something broke it. Now I don't see any images displayed nor I could upload any image. Since then I tried all versions 1.4.9, 1.5, 1.5.0.5, 1.5.1, 1.5.1.1 installing from scratch aga...

Re: SSL Error - Region/State dropdown empty

I am seeing this problem on the latest 1.5.1.1. I have SSL enabled also. Any idea why the Region / State drop down is empty? I am also seeing the image manager not showing any images. My upload would fail also with a warining - "Please select a directory". Prior to this I get a warning from the brow...

Re: Amazon EC2 deployment of OpenCart

Some update from my end.. I finally deployed OpenCart 1.5.1 into Amazon EC2. I shared the web root using the NFS so that my new launched web instances can share the web root. The only directories I kept local to the web instances were the cache and log directories. A short summary of the deployment ...

Amazon EC2 deployment of OpenCart

First thanks for a great software. OpenCart looks clean, fast and easy to setup. I wanted to hear any experience deploying OpenCart to Amazon EC2. I want to design this for scalability for future, though initially I will have only web instane and a database instance. In future I would like to be abl...
