Re: why are changes to home layout not saved?

A bit of a long shot, but maybe something is getting confused by changing two things at once? Try again, changing just one thing and saving (and testing), then change/save/test the other thing. It's worth a try. Also see if one of the original things you changed is already changed (usually either th...

Re: PHP Warning: mysqli::query(): (21000/1242): Subquery returns more than 1 row

The first step is to find the complete error message logged somewhere. You might have to temporarily change an error setting somewhere to get the full message, looking like the one shown in the topic you referred to. Once you have that, start picking apart the subqueries (SELECT ... ) AS fieldname, ...

Re: OpenCart or WordPress?

First off the webshop we operate is an old version of OpenCart (1.5.6) and I am currently trying to upgrade it, but have no real experience with OpenCart If you have difficulties with this kind of thing, look in the commercial services (fee-based services) section to find someone good to hire to do...

Re: Error undefined when editing order

What's strange is the website functions just fine in the subfolder but I get these errors when I move it to the root. The other option is I can just leave it in the subfolder if there's a way to make it so the www.mysite.com points to www.mysite.com/oc3 It's always a bad idea to move an existing st...

Re: Warning: mysql_query(): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'

OK, BUT, keep in mind that MySQL could disappear in your host's next PHP build, so you should be thinking about moving to MySQLi. These days it's quite unusual not to have MySQLi available on a server, in addition to (or even, instead of) the old MySQL. If your host doesn't have MySQLi at all , they...

Re: i have problem with SSL For opencart X2.3

Each page (I tried several) comes up https (with SSL) for me, so is it working now? If not, clear your browser cache and clear any OpenCart caches (depending on your version). You want to have all entries in your config .php files using "https:" instead of "http:" (so that only https: links are gene...

Re: The Opencart Marketplace

I have cleared the cache in modification and refresh. I have also cleared cache in the Dashboard. But still changes are not saving on the theme. Please help. In addition to possibly several OC caches holding data (depending on the version), don't forget to clear your browser's cache too! Browsers c...

The word pickup is one word, that's why.
What exactly do you mean by that? In "Pick up from store", pick up is a verb, and properly two words. In "Free local pickup", pickup is a noun, and properly one word. Let's not confuse people whose English skills are on the weak side.

Re: After upgrading site getting errors, please help

If your developer went through with a fine-toothed comb, checking that MySQLi is installed and functioning, and is what's specified in the configuration, they might find some MySQL references in there. You really might want to think about bailing out on OC 3.0 and going to 2.3 instead -- it's much m...

Re: After upgrading site getting errors, please help

From the error messages you're getting, I would suspect that there's some mixup on whether MySQL or MySQLi is being used. I think OC3 prefers to use MySQLi rather than MySQL. Did your previous store use MySQL? Maybe your configuration still specifies it, rather than MySQLi. Anyway, checking the conf...

Re: Warning: mysql_query(): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'

I'm not sure which you're reporting: that you had it using 'mysqli' and you changed it to 'mysql', or vice-versa. From the error messages you posted at the top, it sounds like maybe you were trying to use 'mysql' rather than 'mysqli'. I wouldn't be surprised if 'mysql' failed, as many hosts are no l...

Re: Webshop for elderly people

If your shop is oriented towards the elderly, pay extra attention to accessibility issues. Many older people have worse vision (requiring larger text and buttons, perhaps higher contrast graphics, and a less cluttered layout) and many have mobility problems (may have trouble pointing to something on...

Re: Editing the order of checkout steps

In general, that's going to be a sticky chicken-and-egg problem. I assume that a "collection option" would be one where the customer comes to the store to pick up the purchase, in which case potentially no customer address at all is needed (except possibly for payment verification or proof of identi...

Re: Order / Check Out by Simple Text

I can't offer any technical help with this, but I am wondering what improvement this is over interacting with a conventional webpage. Texting is normally a one-way street, without much feedback from the recipient. I wonder what would happen in court if someone claimed that they didn't place an order...

Try rearranging the order, so it won't try count()ing before it's confirmed that it's an array: if (is_array($array) && count($array[0]) > 0) { ... It's called "short circui...

Re: Warning: Stay away from A2Hosting

Try to be fair to A2Hosting -- you might have an unusual setup, or they might be under DoS attack, or there is some legitimate excuse for the results. At least let us know if things eventually got resolved satisfactorily. And don't forget that anything incoming to them under your domain name could t...

Re: How to do SSL "http to https" and "www to non-www" redirect?

That may work for setups with only one domain in action, but my concern is add-on domains and subdomains, especially if they are presented in the form "protocol://maindomain/subdirectory/". You don't want to do a 301 redirect on an add-on or sub-domain and have the customer see the subdirectory form...

Re: How to do SSL "http to https" and "www to non-www" redirect?

.htaccess redirect www to non-www with SSL/HTTPS I've got several domains operating under a single .htaccess file, each secured via SSL. I need to force https on every domain while also ensuring www's redirect to non-www's. Here's what I'm using which doesn't work: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.%{H...

Re: Left/Right Arrows in slideshow are small boxes in Chrome, Firefox. Nice arrows in Opera/IE. V.3.0.2.0

I get nice arrows in both FF and Chrome. Are your browsers up to date? Could you be looking at an old cached page? Clear the browsers' caches and see if it still happens.
