Re: Broken website

If you're absolutely sure that you changed nothing , and your hosting service swears on a stack of Holy Books that they didn't change anything, it's time to look at the "last updated" timestamps of all your files and see if there's anything that unaccountably changed around the time you first starte...

Re: Fatal Error occuring when trying to save options using SELECT (existing options deleted)

As part of installing this, were you supposed to manually update the oc_option_value_description table to include fields o_min and o_max? If it was to be automatically done, did it get done? Check with phpMyAdmin to browse around the database. It sounds like at least o_min is missing from the table.

Re: image display issue

That looks like a damaged image file. Try replacing it with a fresh copy from your backup. Be careful to transfer it with the correct mode (binary).

Re: how to edit ''Powered By OpenCart'' and others

Do copyright laws and the product license allow copyright statements, etc. to be removed or altered? Removing a "powered by..." statement from a customer-facing page can be argued on aesthetic grounds, but what is the point of removing this content from admin pages? I'm rather curious as to what the...

Re: Redirect problems

Sure, I could take a look at your .htaccess. Some things to look at first: Some hosts have weird setups where giving a valid path makes the server skip over higher level directories, and go directly to the given one. This would miss the /.htaccess, although I can't see it causing a "too many redirec...

Re: Redirect problems

Try this: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\. [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{HTTPS} !on RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://www.catering-spareparts.co.uk/$1 [R=301,L] Also check that you don't have any other rewrites in your .htaccess file(s) that are still going to http: -- that can put you in a loop w...

Re: Syntax Error - Multiple warnings

I think the problem is that instead of the expected JSON file, it's trying to parse an HTML error page. I can't quite read the message, but from what I can make out, it's trying to open a non-existent file. You'll have to dig into that -- does it have the right path, and if so, why wasn't the file c...

Re: HELP. When I log into adminstrator OC 2.3.0.2 screen goes blank.

A "White Screen of Death" almost always means a fatal PHP syntax error due to corrupted code. This may help: http://www.catskilltech.com/FreeSW/faqs/index.html#wsod . If you dig deep enough, you can usually get to an error message somewhere that explains the problem. If not, back out your last chang...

Re: 500 internal server error

It's hard to believe that 15 processes is not enough to run a store, unless you have a lot of optional tasks being launched. Anyway, I would talk with your host to see what's running, and if any processes are unnecessary. Perhaps something during server startup is failing to end no-longer-needed pro...

Re: htaccess problem, some seo urls dosn't work

For some reason your OC code is not producing SEF URLs for categories. It's not in .htaccess -- that just decodes SEF entries into something that OC can make use of. There must be something messed up in your configuration or even in your PHP code. What do you have for the version, and what extension...

Re: Error: MySQL server has gone away Error No: 2006

Something caused your MySQL database server to crash. It rarely has anything to do with OpenCart. If you're going to run the system yourself, you need to know how to run all the parts yourself, so go find a MySQL operations board to ask what can be done.

Re: Warning: html_entity_decode(): charset `UTF-8;' not supported

Interesting. "UTF-8" as the third parameter to the call (not the second, as some examples in the PHP manual give) is supposed to be supported. If it accepts "utf-8" instead, I'd say that's a PHP bug (which may have been fixed in recent versions), and easily worked around. It may also be worth checki...

Re: Server changed

You have no https on your site, even for sensitive information? That doesn't sound good. Also, it's not good to show absolute paths, as someone sharing your server might be able to hack into your site if you left any directories or files "world writable". There should be a flag somewhere that states...

Re: Many to Many

OK, so all part numbers are industry-wide, so a Delco unloader valve N 975 303 474 0 would have an identical Bosch unloader valve N 975 303 474 0 as well as an identical Lee Chan unloader valve N 975 303 474 0? So long as each of these three entries includes the name "unloader valve" and the part nu...

Re: Many to Many

It does make sense if you are for example in the Automotive Spares industry where a vehicle part is/can be made by several different company.... That doesn't make it a generic category as it is still a specific product... Having a many to many allows you to have the customer and the vendor looking ...

I read OVER and OVER again about not giving our passwords etc to the support, so I am confused as to WHEN and HOW we give them our login info .. as they have to have it to work on my site, yes? :) Which "support" are you talking about? If it's your hosting support, they should rarely need passwords...

Re: Server changed

If GoDaddy moved your site without your input, they're on the hook to fix it, although it sounds like they may not know what they're doing! What was involved with this transfer/move? Is the domain name unchanged? Is the directory structure the same? Was the PHP level changed? Are you at a different ...

Re: Which PHP version is Opencart supporting?

It sounds like your PHP 7 was built without multibyte (wide) character support (for UTF-8). Talk to your host, or run phpinfo() to see if MB support is in there. That would be the first step.

Re: Error 404 in localhost after enabling SEO url

Unless you have confidential information that you need to give me (I can't imagine why), it is better to discuss in public so that others can learn from the discussion. Give your new directory an unguessable name, password protect it (via your hosting control panel), and play away safely.
