Re: How can benefit using OpenCart ?

I'm struggling to understand just what you're asking for here. Is this an auction (bidding on an item), a request for price quotation (RPQ), a priceless catalog (price to be determined later), or something else? An auction doesn't work unless there are more than one customer bidding on the item (the...

Re: mysql_connect deprecated with a twist

Have you talked to your host yet? It sounds like they might have moved your account, and you missed the memo. If not, maybe you did something wrong in your FTP setup and now you have /home and /home2 to clean up/consolidate.

Re: SSL URL not mentioned in config.php (1.4.8b)

Your question is rather confusing. Do you have SSL (certificate) installed on THIS host? Has DNS already been switched over to point to this new host, or are you still pointing to the old host? Do your configure.php files list https: for what are supposed to be SSL-protected pages, and SSL is enable...

Re: Regarding the Current Forum Spam

I just report two new chinee spammers, each with over 200 posts. Somebody at OC isn't aggressively keeping up with this crap! This forum apparently has developed a reputation as easy-to-spam, and these are the consequences when things are allowed to slide.

Re: After installed ssl I have not get any orders

Make sure you have something in your .htaccess to change incoming http: to https:, such as RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTPS} !on RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://www.domain.com/$1 [R=301,L] This will help Google to understand that you've changed over to SSL. Of course, change www.domain.com to suit yo...

Re: Regarding the Current Forum Spam

You'd think that, but there's not. We used to have a one-click ban function, but when the forum was updated to a newer phpBB version, that functionality was lost (and the plugin author hasn't updated it, so it's not usable). Forum admins can mass-delete posts by a user, but moderators have to do it...

Re: TAX INVOICE PDF - TCPDF ERROR: Some data has already been output, can't send PDF fil

Check your browser page (View Source) very carefully to see if something was accidentally sent too early. This could be an error message, a hack, or simply an extra empty or blank line left before the opening <?php tag during editing (or one after the final ?>). Check that sloppy editing (or a bad e...

Re: Image not showing, src empty

Turns out forward slashes cannot be used in paths in the config files in OC 2.3.0.2. My server accepts forward slashes in the paths generated during installation of 1.5.x (the installer ends up with a mix of back and forward slashes) hence I didn't immediately identify it as an issue when checking ...

Re: Help! Products not showing in Chrome

I can confirm that under the Glassware category, Firefox shows 8 items while Chrome only shows the first 3 ( out of 8 ). On FF, the screen layout is crazy on the desktop, which suggests that there is some sort of problem with responsive display code that Chrome is choking on. However, the phone disp...

Re: Move Sold products to another category

It should be possible to move a one-of-a-kind product to another "not for sale" category, but I'm not sure that's the ideal solution to mix in a gallery of sold (and unavailable) products with active sales of other products. You would have to have different code to not display sales information, and...

Re: Images not showing anywhere

Never 777 an entire site. It's a security hole. At most, you'll need to 777 selected directories where OC needs to be able to write to those directories, and PHP is running as "other/world" user. Regarding the images, have you checked if your .htaccess is providing "hotlink protection", and you need...

Re: Hiding Out of Stock Items

So, are these products out of stock or are they discontinued ? If they're discontinued, as you seem to be saying, just remove them from your store and let them evaporate from Google over time. If you are concerned that customers will get 404s and leave your store, you could add redirects to your .ht...

Re: Hiding Out of Stock Items

How can you hide something and not hide it at the same time? How very Zen! Anyway, remember that Google gets upset if it finds you're feeding its indexer bot different content than a human user sees. You should be consistent and either completely hide the product from everyone, or show it to everyo...

Re: Custom product t-shirt designer module / extension

Anyone interested in printed graphics designs on their products needs to keep a few things in mind. One is that whatever format(s) the customer supplies the image in, your supplier may need color separations, etc. It depends on how their printing is done and whether they can halftone the image to ge...

Re: Regarding the Current Forum Spam

You're losing the battle. Every day new Chinee spammers drop several hundred spams. One this morning racked up 734 offers to sell college degrees! Get better forum software if you want to keep ahead of them. Almost anything is better than phpBB. At least, roll back the latest changes that opened the...

Re: help, please!! My store is not getting redirected to https

Did you really spell the file .httaccess? It's .htaccess ( one t ). You want the entire store to be under SSL (https)? Make sure you have all "http:" changed to "https:" in your configure files. In your .htaccess, redirect any http: to https:, and that should do it. RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HT...

Re: Help upgrading from 2.0 to current version & a FREE RC drone

Whoever is supposed to be moderating this forum, and removing spam, is falling down on the job. There are literally hundreds of Chinese-language spams selling university diplomas, and they can't be bothered to remove them. Edit: According to https://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&p=687972, the...

Re: New Site folder redirects to Opencart

It depends on how your host has configured the server (Apache). My host jumps directly to the indicated directory if the path actually exists. What is supposed to happen is that /.htaccess (which is for OC in this case) is run, then any .htaccess files down the chain are run in turn until control ge...

Re: Moving site from subfolder to root - errors!

By the way, that's the wrong approach. Your store should be left in its own subdirectory (/store or /catalog), rather than being in root. This way, if later you want to add a blog, gallery, or other application, it can go in its own subdirectory and no one will step on anyone else's toes. You will i...

Re: PHP Warning

If neither you nor a hacker changed the code, most likely your host just upgraded to a new PHP version. How old a version of OC are you running? Maybe it's not compatible with your new PHP version.
