Re: What is the most stable open cart release out there as of today. Also are old 2. releases get security bugs fixed?

Quote `Sorry, but I stopped reporting OpenCart bugs a long time ago due to rude responses from developer. And I'm not the only one.` That is silly in my opinion. Irregardless of Daniel rudeness if any, unless we as community collaborate OC wont reach its full potential. If you not happy with a direc...

What is the most stable open cart release out there as of today. Also are old 2. releases get security bugs fixed?

Hi,

I have used 2.3 git clone https://github.com/opencart/opencart.git --branch 2.3.0.2 uncompiled and it got some code errors.

Between all versions 2 and 3 which one is best? 2.2.0? And do they all receive security updates or not?

How well are customers passwords protected by current code?

It seems sha1 and salts implementation is weak? If yes I think there was proposed patch that was not accepted.

What are you thoughts on securing customers passwords? Admin password - simply use random 20 ascii characters :)

Re: Security common sense.

In fact. SQL Injection, XSS and Path Traversal. It seems most open carts running on up to date linux are doing fine even without Modsecurity? As it takes time to configure it properly for XSS and even then. Even if badly configured code allowing to traverse and display config.php set sql access to l...

Re: Security common sense.

There are some modules that are made with backdoors. What would be most common things to check for? :)

Having said that if all public vulnerabilities are patched exploit wont be able escalate to root unless its a private exploit :)

Security common sense.

If you are a startup its unlikely some dedicated hacker will try to hack your box :) 1. File permissions. Directories 740 files 640 - writeable directories like cache images 770. Chown root:www-data. This way www data user can only read files. 2. Using Ossec to report on any files modifications in h...

Re: Website hacked, please help

So I figured out the date and time the malicious code was added and asked for a restore to this date.

How did you figured out? Then simply remove breached code and and reinstall server + all plugins and get db from backup. Even if there is some crap in db - no code to call it cant activate it :)

Re: The Future of OpenCart

Theme Journal + Open Cart at the moment is one if not the best open carts out there. Magento is bs in terms of modifying it. Shopify plugins are pricey and 1 per site :) Plus they arent best in terms of SEO? There are plenty of developers and it does not matter is some come and some go. Code base at...

How to setup multistore with 2 different domains, nginx and lets encrypt.

Hi ,

Idea is to use www.shop1.com - currently in operation and www.shop2.com. Shop2 shares shop1 products. What do I need to change in nginx to make it happen?

And do I need to make any extra tweaks to letsencrypt or not? SNI is on.
