Re: Does Opencart really revert to the default theme?

Okay, I found it in catalog/controller/event/theme.php on line 19:

Code: Select all

if (is_file(DIR_TEMPLATE . $theme . '/template/' . $view . '.tpl')) {
    $view = $theme . '/template/' . $view;
} else {
    $view = 'default/template/' . $view;
}

Re: Does Opencart really revert to the default theme?

Hi Ernie, thanks for participating.

You linked to a rather long post, which I nevertheless read in full, and I'm afraid couldn't see where it answers my question, sorry.

I need to know where exactly Opencart reverts to a default theme in case it can't find a custom .tpl file.

Thanks again.

Does Opencart really revert to the default theme?

Hi all! TL;DR : If I delete a .tpl file in a custom theme, will Opencart search for that file inside the default theme? It does seem to do that when I try, but I cannot find any proof or place in code where it does that. I found it in the admin section , but I'm not sure if this portion gets reused ...

Since this is about a referred development question from Github, it would rather be suggested to post in the v3.x releases of the forum.
Okay, if you say so. If I post this question there again, that may be considered duplicate. Can someone please move?

Why home.php adds canonical conditionally?

Hi all! I'm talking about https://github.com/opencart/opencart/blob/master/upload/catalog/controller/common/home.php#L9: if (isset($this->request->get['route'])) { $this->document->addLink($this->config->get('config_url'), 'canonical'); } Why is there a need for that condition, why not just add the ...

We're using Opencart 2.3
Yet, you are posting in the v3.x releases of the forum.
We were considering upgrading, so the question concerns v3, as mentioned in the topic title.

In the mean time, the exact PayPal payment module was not specified.
It's the "pp_express" one.

Thanks

Does Opencart 3 validate the received payment amount before finalising the order?

We're using Opencart 2.3 and ran into a problem with the default Paypal extension: user wasn't charged for some of the items. The items were recorded on Opencart order, but were not recorded on Paypal transaction. I googled and it seems to be a relatively common issue. As a solution, I'd want to imp...

Was the Filter submit on Enter feature removed intentionally?

To reproduce, go to Admin → Products → Type something into the "Model" filter → Hit Enter. Expected behaviour: submit the form Actual behaviour: does nothing My question: are there specific reasons for such behaviour, or the feature was just not implemented, and I can contribute it? Tried to search ...

Sending e-mail optional in ModelAccountCustomer::addCustomer

Hello, We're trying to re-use ModelAccountCustomer::addCustomer() in one of our extensions, and by default it sends a welcome e-mail to every new customer. We'd like that disabled for one specific scenario, and currently our options are either editing the core (including with vQmod) or re-declaring ...
